Nvidia originally planned to launch the GeForce RTX 5050 desktop graphics card equipped with 9GB of GDDR7 memory to alleviate memory constraints in entry-level products. The graphics card features a 96-bit memory interface, the core codename GB206, and a power consumption of 130W, with a scheduled release in June 2026. However, recent reports indicate that due to the alleviation of GDDR6 memory supply issues and adjustments in market strategy, Nvidia has canceled the 9GB version plan and will continue selling the 8GB version.
