According to the latest research report from Korea Investment & Securities, amid the ongoing global shortage of memory chips, China’s memory manufacturer CXMT is finding it challenging to establish a significant foothold in the international market. The current scarcity of chips is mainly attributed to a substantial surge in demand for artificial intelligence chips. Moreover, consumer electronics behemoth Apple recently increased the prices of several of its products, attributing the hike to an "inadequate memory supply," which has drawn market attention to its subsequent supply strategy. Various media sources have reported that Apple is seeking an exemption from the U.S. government, hoping to gain approval to purchase DRAM chips from CXMT, a Chinese company that is currently on the ‘Entity List.’
