On June 29, 2026, ASICLAND, a South Korean chip design service provider, made an announcement that it had inked a contract with SK Hynix. This agreement pertains to the development of next-generation enterprise solid-state drive (eSSD) controllers, also known as main controllers. Under this contract, ASICLAND will offer ASIC design and tape-out support. In line with the terms of the contract, ASICLAND is set to act as a technology partner in the development of SK Hynix's next-gen products. The company has plans to deliver ASIC design and verification capabilities, leveraging TSMC's cutting-edge process technology. The contract is worth around KRW 31.9 billion (roughly equivalent to RMB 140 million). Its validity period extends from May 27, 2025, to December 31, 2027.
