On June 29, according to South Korea's Korea Economic Daily, as part of South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's flagship industrial strategy, Samsung Group and SK Group plan to jointly invest 2,000 trillion won (approximately US$1.3 trillion) over the next decade. Among them, Samsung and SK Hynix intend to build 4 to 5 semiconductor factories each in the Gwangju region. Additionally, Samsung plans to construct a chip packaging plant in South Chungcheong Province, while SK Hynix will expand its NAND factory in North Chungcheong Province.
