Intel’s next-gen ‘Nova Lake’ CPU microarchitecture is slowly coming to light, and the power consumption of its high-performance desktop platform has become a hot topic in the tech world. According to well-known leaker Jaykihn, the top-of-the-line ‘Nova Lake-S’ dual-compute-chip desktop processor—tailored for overclocking enthusiasts—boasts a PL2 power consumption limit of up to 474 watts in its 52-core configuration. This level of power consumption is on par with, or even surpasses, the typical values seen in previous high-end desktop platforms, significantly outstripping the power range of traditional consumer-grade desktop CPUs.
