On June 25, the 2026 OpenAtom Open Source Ecosystem Conference kicked off in Beijing. During the event, Loongson Technology Co., Ltd. and the OpenAtom Open Source Foundation officially inaugurated the OpenAtom LoongArch Community. This community represents China's inaugural all-encompassing open-source initiative in the realm of independent instruction set architectures. It encompasses three major open-source projects, centering on IP cores, binary translation, and fundamental operating systems. The community spans the entire spectrum, from chip design to applications for end-users, signifying a significant and all-around boost in the ecological development of China's homegrown chip foundational technologies.
