On June 22, 2026, Beijing Lvfa Zhongke Lithium Capacitor Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Green Development Investment Group, proudly announced that its independently developed 5 MW all-carbon supercapacitor power cabin has successfully completed a comprehensive suite of type tests. The equipment has also earned certification from the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). This achievement marks a significant milestone, as it represents the first 5 MW all-carbon supercapacitor power storage unit—both in China and globally—to achieve such certification for the entire cabin system.
The equipment leverages in-house-produced 4,500-farad large-capacity all-carbon lithium-ion supercapacitor cells. These cells are renowned for their ultra-long cycle life, exceptional safety, outstanding low-temperature performance, and the absence of any risk associated with lithium dendrite formation. The entire power cabin boasts a conversion efficiency exceeding 95%, an instantaneous power response time within 10 milliseconds, and a cycle life surpassing one million cycles. These features make it ideally suited for deployment in high-altitude and extremely cold environments, eliminating the need for supplementary temperature control or pressurization equipment.
The equipment is slated for deployment in the Qinghai Dongyue Independent Energy Storage Project. There, it will provide millisecond-level rapid response capabilities for energy storage power stations, supporting an ultra-long cycle life exceeding one million cycles without the necessity for cell replacement throughout its entire operational lifecycle. This not only significantly reduces ancillary investment costs for the site but also enhances the economic benefits derived from frequency regulation operations at the power station.
