By the close of trading on June 17, all three major U.S. stock indices finished lower. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by 0.98%, the Nasdaq Composite Index tumbled 1.34%, and the S&P 500 Index dropped 1.21%. The tech sector, particularly large-cap stocks, experienced a broad-based downturn. Meta's shares plummeted more than 5%, while SpaceX saw a decline exceeding 4%. Microsoft and Amazon's stocks both fell over 3%, with Tesla, Google (Alphabet), and Netflix each dropping more than 2%. Nvidia and Apple also witnessed decreases of over 1%, though Arm bucked the trend, rising more than 5%. Among well-known Chinese ADRs, the majority ended lower. Alibaba and Li Auto's stocks declined more than 3%, while Tencent Music, Pinduoduo, and XPeng each fell over 2%. JD.com and Weibo's shares decreased more than 1%, though NIO managed a slight increase.
