On June 10, amid a global surge in artificial intelligence infrastructure development, TSMC announced a 30% increase in its May sales, which reached NT$416.98 billion (approximately US$13.2 billion). Cumulative revenue from April to May also witnessed a significant year-on-year growth of about 24%. Analysts project that TSMC’s sales will experience a 35% uptick in the second quarter. TSMC maintains a positive outlook on the worldwide demand for AI chips. Earlier this month, Chairman Mark Liu commented that the global chip supply is expected to remain constrained for the next few years. Reflecting this optimism, TSMC revised its full-year sales forecast upwards in April and indicated that its capital expenditures would likely reach the upper end of the existing forecast range, with potential spending climbing to as much as US$56 billion by 2026.
