On June 8, the Tsinghua University News Network reported that with the burgeoning growth of artificial intelligence, large-scale model training, and cloud data centers, the global data volume is expanding at an unprecedented rate. In the realm of long-term archiving and cold data storage, traditional storage technologies are grappling with challenges such as high energy consumption, limited lifespan, and escalating costs. Recently, the Tsinghua team has introduced a deep learning-augmented computational optical decoding strategy. This innovative approach seamlessly integrates artificial intelligence with computational optics to enable intelligent decoding of high-density optical disc signals, thereby paving a new avenue for enhancing the decoding capabilities of conventional optical storage systems.
