On May 31, STMicroelectronics, a leading manufacturer of microcontroller units (MCUs) and power semiconductors, issued a 'Price Adjustment Notification Letter' to its customers on May 28. The letter announced that prices for certain products would rise starting from June 28, 2026. This move represents the second price hike by STMicroelectronics, following an initial increase on March 24 of this year, underscoring the persistent and escalating (optimized from 'continuously worsening' or 'continued intensification') cost pressures faced by the industry. Previously, other international power semiconductor giants, such as Infineon and Texas Instruments, have also raised their prices. Domestic MCU manufacturers, including Asemi Semiconductor and Nationz Technologies, have similarly followed suit with recent price adjustments.
