Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, has accepted an invitation to join the Advisory Board of Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management. Since its inception in October 2000, the Advisory Board has played a pivotal role in fostering stronger ties between the school and the external community, elevating its research and teaching standards. It is widely recognized as one of the most prestigious and influential platforms for facilitating dialogue between China’s academic sector and top-tier global business leaders.

The Advisory Board convenes annually in Beijing, focusing on critical topics such as education, technology, and global economic development. These meetings provide strategic guidance and direction for the school, while also supporting exchange activities, including the Tsinghua Management Global Forum and classroom visits by advisory board members. Additionally, board members actively promote international collaboration and the recruitment of global scholars for the school. The current roster of board members includes chairpersons of renowned international multinational corporations, deans of business schools from world-class universities, and Nobel laureates in economics. The board is chaired by Apple CEO Tim Cook, with notable members such as Elon Musk, Satya Nadella, Mark Zuckerberg, and Masayoshi Son.

Huang visited China in mid-May accompanied by a delegation and was subsequently invited to join the board. Analysts suggest that this appointment enables Huang to strengthen his connections with China’s academic, technological, and business decision-making circles, all while adhering to U.S. export control regulations. It also positions NVIDIA to maintain a leading edge in talent acquisition and academic collaboration. Furthermore, this month, Huang was honored with an Honorary Doctor of Science and Technology degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan presented the robe to Huang, affirming that Intel and NVIDIA are forging ahead with their cooperation to jointly develop innovative new products.
