Recently, a research team hailing from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Tsinghua University has marked a significant breakthrough in the exploration of sintering mechanisms within niobate piezoelectric ceramics. Employing an inert hot-pressing technique, the team successfully fabricated high-density, pure KN ceramics that exhibit piezoelectric properties on par with those of pure KNN ceramics. Furthermore, the researchers identified a multitude of nanoscale intragranular pores within the material and elucidated the mechanisms underlying their formation and evolution. This discovery offers fresh perspectives on comprehending the sintering behavior and stability of niobate piezoelectric ceramics.
