NVIDIA has unveiled its financial performance for the first fiscal quarter of 2027, revealing a remarkable 85% year-on-year increase in GAAP revenue, reaching $81.615 billion. Net profit surged by an impressive 211% year-on-year, amounting to $58.321 billion. Notably, the data center segment contributed $75.2 billion in revenue, marking a 92% year-on-year growth, while the edge computing segment brought in $6.4 billion, up 29% year-on-year. The company’s gross margin also saw a significant improvement, rising to 74.9%, an increase of 14.4 percentage points compared to the previous year.

Looking ahead to the second fiscal quarter, NVIDIA expects revenue to reach approximately $91 billion (±2%), excluding computational revenue from Chinese data centers. In a move to further reward shareholders, NVIDIA has decided to bolster its stock repurchase authorization by an additional $80 billion and raise its quarterly dividend from $0.01 per share to $0.25 per share.

Despite surpassing expectations and enhancing its buyback program, NVIDIA’s stock price experienced a slight dip of 0.39% in after-hours trading. This reaction came as the revenue outlook for the upcoming quarter did not fully meet the loftiest projections set by some analysts. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang commented on the situation, stating that the construction of AI factories is rapidly accelerating, and NVIDIA is positioned at the forefront of this transformative trend.
