During the morning trading session, the three primary A-share indices exhibited divergent trends. By the midday break, the Shanghai Composite Index had inched up by a modest 0.09%, whereas the Shenzhen Component Index experienced a slight dip of 0.06%. The ChiNext Index also declined, by 0.13%, while the Beijing 50 Index registered a marginal increase of 0.21%. Notably, the STAR 50 Index surged dramatically, climbing 4.71%. Trading activity on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges surged to RMB 1,805.725 billion, marking an impressive increase of RMB 891.014 billion from the previous trading day. At the midday point, 2,946 stocks had advanced, 2,398 had retreated, 73 had reached their upper circuit limits, and 50 had hit their lower circuit limits. In terms of sectoral performance, the computing power chip sector spearheaded the gains, while the glass fiber sector emerged as one of the prominent underperformers.
