On April 28th, reports indicated that the Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of Guangdong Province had been officially unveiled. The plan outlines a strategic focus on nurturing emerging pillar industries by implementing industrial innovation initiatives, refining innovation organizational frameworks, and fostering an integrated approach to the development of innovation infrastructure, technological research, and product enhancements. Specifically, the plan sets forth a clear objective to expand and bolster sectors such as new energy, advanced materials, intelligent connected vehicles, smart robots, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, aerospace, integrated circuits, the low-altitude economy, and biomanufacturing. The aim is to foster a greater number of emerging pillar industries and establish industrial clusters valued at both trillion-yuan and hundred-billion-yuan levels. Concurrently, the plan seeks to capitalize on the synergistic strengths of mechatronics and the integration of software and hardware to drive the development of strategic products like computing chips and solid-state batteries. It also aims to propel technological advancements in intelligent driving, thereby creating fresh impetus for growth and development.
