In April 2026, the solid-state drive (SSD) sector witnessed a substantial surge in prices. Samsung Electronics and Kingston declared that the factory prices for their entire SSD product lines would escalate by at least 10%, with certain high-end M.2 SSDs experiencing price hikes approaching double that percentage. Samsung has already dispatched price adjustment notifications to its top three domestic distributors, while Kingston has also verified immediate price increases across its full product lineup. Consequently, the prices of standard domestically manufactured PCIe 4.0 solid-state drives have ascended, with 1TB models reaching approximately 900 yuan and 2TB models around 1500 yuan. Market analysis suggests that the main drivers behind this round of price increases are the escalating costs of upstream NAND components and intensifying supply-demand dynamics, with retail prices anticipated to climb even higher from their already lofty levels.
