Even before its official launch, NVIDIA’s next-generation AI chip, the Vera Rubin, has already generated immense excitement among customers. AI infrastructure service provider Nscale has revealed an additional order for 30,000 Rubin GPUs, bringing the cumulative total of units deployed for clients, including Microsoft, to an impressive 130,000. Out of these 130,000 chips, Nscale had initially planned to deploy 100,000 units, with the new order of 30,000 units set to be fully integrated by 2027. The Narvik campus in Norway has been earmarked as a pivotal site for this deployment. With this strategic expansion, Nscale is strengthening its partnership with Microsoft, with the combined AI chip computing capacity at the Narvik campus projected to soar to 230 megawatts.
