On April 9, it was reported that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have largely abandoned one-year short-term supply contracts with major global tech companies, opting instead for long-term supply agreements spanning three to five years. Samsung Electronics has implemented a policy whereby new contracts signed with key customers from this year onward will be for a minimum of three years. SK Hynix is also in negotiations with Google for a five-year long-term supply contract for general-purpose DRAM.
