On April 3, Xiaomi released an announcement, stating that due to substantial price hikes in crucial components, particularly global memory chips, the company, after thorough evaluation, has opted to adjust the recommended retail prices of select products available for sale, effective from 00:00 on April 11, 2026. Xiaomi's President, Lu Weibing, commented on social media that the magnitude of this round of memory price increases has far surpassed initial projections. Specifically, prices for the same memory version have soared nearly four times compared to the first quarter of the previous year. The 12+512 version has witnessed a price hike of around 1,500 yuan, while the 16+1T version has experienced an even more pronounced increase. This has significantly impacted REDMI, a brand renowned for its ultimate cost-effectiveness, compelling the company to modestly raise or revert the retail prices of certain models.
