Recently, during the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference at the "RISC-V Ecosystem Technology Forum," two groundbreaking innovations were unveiled: the "Xiangshan" open-source computing system and the "Ruyi" native operating system. Both are built upon the fifth-generation Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC-V) architecture, heralding a significant milestone achieved by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in its relentless pursuit of chip industry research excellence. The seamless integration of "Xiangshan" and "Ruyi" has not only paved a novel pathway for the open-source chip industry's practical implementation but also signifies the establishment of two prominent RISC-V open-source root communities, spearheaded by China. This development further amplifies China's influential role in shaping global open-source technology standards.
