Former TSMC Engineer’s Sentence for Leaking 2nm Tech Secrets to Be Announced in April, Faces Up to 14 Years in Prison

Former TSMC engineers Chen Liming and Wu Bingjun, as well as current engineer Ge Yiping, are suspected of leaking crucial technologies. Taiwan prosecutors have indicted them on charges that include breaches of security laws. The Intellectual Property and Commercial Court recently wrapped up the hearings, with the verdict set to be delivered on April 27. In addition, it was revealed that Chen Liming directed former TSMC engineer Chen Weijie to covertly photograph confidential materials using a mobile phone the year before last. The court has decided to extend the detention of Chen Liming and Chen Weijie by two months, starting from April 1 and April 8, respectively.
