It is indispensable in photolithography, directly influencing the precision and quality of circuit etching on chips.

Qatar stands as one of the world's foremost helium suppliers, contributing to over one-third of the global production. However, the recent impact of the conflict has disrupted this supply chain. The industrial city of Ras Laffan, home to QatarEnergy, came under attack, leading to a suspension of production. This event has precipitated a global helium shortage, causing prices to skyrocket.

South Korea and Taiwan, China, rank among the top two semiconductor producers globally and are particularly dependent on helium supplies from the Middle East. Should the conflict persist, there looms a substantial risk of material shortages for chip production, potentially hampering the technological advancements and economic stability of these regions.
