On March 18, 2026, Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, announced at the GTC 2026 conference that the company had successfully obtained export licenses for the H200 GPU from both Chinese and U.S. authorities. These licenses have paved the way for NVIDIA to fulfill purchase orders from multiple Chinese clients. Presently, production of the H200 chip has recommenced, and the supply chain is functioning at peak efficiency.

Previously, the U.S. government had granted approval for the export of the H200 to China, albeit with certain stipulations. These included a requirement for 25% of the sales revenue to be remitted to the U.S. government, limitations on the export volume, and the necessity for usage supervision. Despite speculations suggesting that production had ceased due to a lack of Chinese purchases, Huang's recent statement has put those rumors to rest by confirming the tangible progress in the H200's export to China.
