A-Share Midday Review: ChiNext Index Rises 0.89% in Half-Day Trading, Memory Chip Sector Leads Gains

On the morning of March 18, the three major A-share indices diverged after the opening, showing an upward trend with fluctuations during the session. By midday close, the Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.40%, while the Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.05%, and the ChiNext Index surged 0.89%. In terms of sectors, the memory chip sector performed strongly, with multiple stocks including Tonysys Technology, Guanghe Technology, and CECI Port hitting their daily limits. CPO concept stocks rebounded, with RuiSikonda sealing the daily limit and Yostar rising over 6%. The satellite internet sector strengthened, with Aohong Electronics hitting the daily limit and CETC Blue Sky surging over 7%. Additionally, sectors such as computing power, semiconductors, PCBs, MiniLED, blind box economy, and Zhipu AI also posted varying degrees of gains. In contrast, sectors like oilfield services engineering, crop farming, marine economy, and energy metals underperformed in the morning session. The total trading volume on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges reached approximately 1.24 trillion yuan in the morning, a decrease of about 128.2 billion yuan from the same period yesterday. Around 2,500 stocks rose, while 2,800 declined, with net outflows of principal funds reaching approximately 29 billion yuan.
