On March 10th, the General Office of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government unveiled the "Action Plan for Accelerating the Cultivation and Development of Emerging Industries to Spearhead the Construction of a Modern Industrial System in Guangdong Province (2026-2035)." This strategic blueprint outlines that by 2030, Guangdong aims to establish a preliminary framework for nurturing emerging industries province-wide. The goal is to cultivate over three industries with an output value surpassing RMB 1 trillion, more than five industries with an output value exceeding RMB 500 billion, and in excess of ten industries with an output value over RMB 100 billion. By 2035, the province envisions fostering more than 100 new industrial sectors, with the combined industrial and market scale of these emerging industries exceeding RMB 10 trillion.
Additionally, the plan underscores the importance of promoting the large-scale production and widespread application of materials such as silicon carbide and gallium nitride. It also calls for intensified research and development efforts to overcome key challenges associated with materials like gallium oxide and their preparation technologies. Furthermore, the plan advocates for the advancement and large-scale deployment of distinctive manufacturing processes, as well as cutting-edge packaging technologies and methodologies.
