On March 10, reports emerged indicating that Tesla, a key client, has delayed the multi-project wafer (MPW) testing phase for the AI6 chip on Samsung Electronics’ cutting-edge 2nm process technology. Consequently, Samsung Foundry has been compelled to postpone the testing services, initially slated for April of this year, by six months. This alteration has rippled through to the DX-M2 project of the South Korean fabless company DEEPX. The company’s next-generation, device-side generative AI chip, originally slated for mass production in the second quarter of 2027, is now projected to undergo quality testing in the third quarter of 2027, with full-scale commercial availability not expected until the fourth quarter.
