China's Ministry of Commerce stated on Saturday that new conflicts between Dutch chipmaker Nexperia and its Chinese subsidiary could once again trigger a crisis in the global semiconductor supply chain. In October 2025, after the Dutch government took over the Chinese-controlled Nexperia, China imposed export controls on Nexperia chips produced within its borders, disrupting the global automotive industry supply and leading to production cuts by carmakers. Nexperia chips are widely used in automotive electronic systems and are fundamental components for vehicles.
