Apple has recently unveiled its entry-level notebook, the MacBook Neo, which is powered by the A18 Pro chip—the same processor found in the iPhone 16 Pro. This marks a pioneering move for Apple, as it's the first instance of the company utilizing a smartphone chip in a computer. When questioned about the decision to forego the newer A19 Pro chip, Apple CEO Tim Cook explained earlier this year that production capacity limitations at TSMC's advanced chip manufacturing facilities have constrained the availability of the A19 Pro. This scarcity in production has not only compelled the MacBook Neo to rely on an older chip but also imposes a cap on the sales potential of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, both of which are equipped with the A19 Pro chip.
