On March 5, Reuters conveyed that Intel's CFO, David Zinsner, announced at a technology conference that CEO Chen Liwu now considers the 18A process technology a viable option for external clients. This marks a significant shift from last year's strategy, when the technology was earmarked primarily for internal use. At present, only a select few of Intel's 18A process chips have successfully met customer yield requirements; however, there are steady monthly improvements in yields. Spurred by this news, Intel's stock price experienced an approximate 6% surge on Wednesday.
