Dong Jin, a deputy to the National People’s Congress and president of the Beijing Microchip Blockchain and Edge Computing Research Institute, emphasized that blockchain is a cornerstone of digital infrastructure essential for the growth of the digital economy. The blockchain-specific acceleration chip developed by his team achieves a 50-fold improvement in blockchain performance. Crucially, this innovation overcomes computational limitations in ultra-large-scale blockchain networks, offering a domestically developed "Chinese chip" to strengthen China’s secure digital infrastructure. As applications expand, a national-level blockchain network has been established to integrate high-value core data from China’s cross-border trade, global payments, and other sectors into a self-reliant system.
