On Wednesday, a delegation representing Indian trade interests paid a visit to Eindhoven, a renowned center for the semiconductor industry in the Netherlands, with the aim of exploring potential investment avenues. Presently, India is intensifying its push to foster growth within its domestic semiconductor sector, committing substantial financial support in the form of billions of dollars in subsidies. These incentives are designed to lure semiconductor fabrication plants (fabs) and associated manufacturing activities to the country. At present, eight such projects are in various stages of progress, highlighted by a massive $14 billion facility currently under construction by Tata Electronics in the state of Gujarat.
