On March 4, Reuters reported that, according to Intel's announcement on March 3 (local time), the company's Chairman, Frank Yeary, intends to retire following the annual shareholders' meeting in May. Craig Barrett has been designated as his successor. Yeary, who has been a member of Intel's board since 2009 and assumed the role of chairman in 2023, has overseen four CEO transitions during his tenure. Barrett, who joined Intel's board in 2025, brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Qualcomm and Google.
