The rise in memory chip prices has propelled Samsung Electronics' market capitalization beyond the $1 trillion mark, making it the first South Korean company to join the 'Trillion-Dollar Club.' Its stock price has surged from a nearly four-year low of 51,700 Korean won in November 2024 to the current 216,500 Korean won, with a market capitalization reaching 1,402.10 trillion Korean won. Globally, only 13 companies have a market capitalization exceeding $1 trillion, with Samsung ranking 13th, having briefly risen to 12th place. It is the sole South Korean brand among the top 20 companies, while its rival SK Hynix ranks 21st. Among the top ten companies by market capitalization worldwide, eight are from the United States, with the other two being Saudi Aramco and TSMC.
