It has been half a year since the new-generation LPDDR6 memory standard was released, and products based on this standard are now being gradually rolled out. The industry is witnessing a clear trend towards higher capacities and frequencies, and an enhanced version, LPDDR6X, is also on the brink of introduction. SK Hynix is set to reveal comprehensive details about its LPDDR6 memory at the upcoming ISSCC 2026 conference in San Francisco, which will take place from February 15 to 19. This memory boasts a single-die capacity of 16Gb (equivalent to 2GB) and can achieve a data transfer rate of up to 14.4Gbps. This performance not only pushes the boundaries of the JEDEC standard but also positions it as the fastest publicly specified LPDDR6 product currently available. Meanwhile, Samsung is also making significant strides in its LPDDR6 deployment. The company has already launched a 10.7Gbps version and is planning to introduce a 12.8Gbps variant, with an ambitious goal of increasing the speed to 14Gbps.
