According to the memory price tracking report for February 2026 released by research firm Counterpoint Research, DRAM and NAND flash memory prices have been continuously rising since the beginning of 2025, driven by a surge in demand for AI servers. Prices surged by 80%—90% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, reaching all-time highs across all categories. Among them, DRAM for general-purpose servers has been the primary driver of price increases, with the contract price of 64GB RDIMM skyrocketing from $450 in the fourth quarter of 2025 to over $900 in the first quarter of 2026, and is expected to exceed $1,000 in the second quarter. The report notes that memory price increases are expected to continue at least until June 2026, with prices likely peaking in the first half of the year, though supply constraints will persist long-term. This round of price hikes is primarily due to supply-demand imbalances and capacity restructuring by major overseas manufacturers. The explosive growth in server memory demand driven by AI computing center construction, combined with overseas memory giants focusing on high-end product production while reducing investment and supply in traditional market segments, has further exacerbated market supply-demand tensions.
