Intel has discontinued its 'Software-Defined Silicon' (SDSi) program, which was marketed under the 'Intel On Demand' brand. This program allowed users to unlock, through additional payment, features pre-installed but disabled by default in Xeon server processors. Currently, Intel has archived the relevant official GitHub code repository, marking the formal end of this program. SDSi was originally designed to provide flexible configuration and subscription services for enterprise users, but it was terminated due to limited market acceptance, complex deployment, and lack of ecosystem support. Enterprises that have already deployed this feature will no longer receive subsequent driver updates or security patches, while new users will be unable to enable the paid features.
