Based on Counterpoint's monthly intelligence report concerning foundry services, TSMC has formulated plans to scale down the production capacity of 12-inch mature processes at its Fab14 facility by 15%-20% by the year 2028. This strategic move is designed to tackle the issue of underutilization in traditional processes and to reallocate resources in order to bolster the advancement of cutting-edge packaging technologies. Data reveals that the low utilization rates of 40-90nm processes constitute the main impetus for this adjustment. It's worth noting that TSMC had previously unveiled a strategic adjustment plan regarding the mature process production capacity at its Fab14 facility.
