On January 24, at the market's close, the three principal U.S. stock indices ended with a mixed bag of results. The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a decline of 0.58%, whereas the Nasdaq Composite Index registered a modest uptick of 0.28%. The S&P 500 Index, meanwhile, edged up slightly by 0.03%. Among large-cap technology stocks, performance was notably diverse. Microsoft's shares soared by more than 3%, and Amazon's stock climbed over 2%. Conversely, Intel's shares took a significant hit, plummeting more than 17% following disappointing earnings forecasts. Chinese ADRs (American Depositary Receipts), which are popular among investors, also exhibited a mixed performance. New Oriental Education & Technology Group's stock rose over 2%, while XPeng Motors' shares dropped more than 3%. Both NIO and Alibaba saw their shares decline by over 2%.
