On January 15th, TrendForce released its most recent report, revealing that spot prices for DRAM kept ascending as suppliers and traders opted to hold onto their inventory, thereby constraining trading volumes. Specifically, the average price of mainstream DDR4 1Gx8 3200MT/s chips witnessed a 9.64% increase. Similarly, spot prices for NAND flash memory also continued their upward trajectory. However, trading volumes remained lackluster, attributed to a combination of factors including escalating prices, lackluster consumer demand, and the temporary shutdown of factories in observance of the Lunar New Year. Although some buyers adopted a cautious, wait-and-see stance, optimistic spot traders were reluctant to reduce prices for promotional purposes, consequently prolonging the market downturn. This week, the average spot price for 512Gb TLC wafers surged by 9.68%, reaching $15.052.
