The General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government has unveiled the "Guangzhou Blueprint for Accelerating the Development of an Advanced Manufacturing Hub (2024-2035)." According to the blueprint, Guangzhou is set to bolster its capabilities across the entire automotive chip ecosystem, encompassing design, manufacturing, as well as packaging and testing. This strategic move aims to enhance the security and resilience of the industrial and supply chains by focusing on a diverse array of automotive chips, including but not limited to computing, control, memory, analog driving and power management, communication and interface, sensor, and power chips.
Simultaneously, the blueprint emphasizes fostering collaboration between chip manufacturers, design firms, and automotive companies. This collaborative effort will focus on the packaging, testing, and certification of highly reliable microcontroller units (MCUs), artificial intelligence chips, power control management chips, advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) chips, and automotive audio/video and information terminal chips. By doing so, Guangzhou aims to expedite the enhancement of related supporting services and pave the way for the large-scale deployment of autonomous and reliable automotive chips.
