On January 7th, Reuters reported that The Korea Economic Daily cited Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon as stating that Qualcomm is in discussions with Samsung Electronics regarding foundry production of 2nm chips. Amon mentioned that Qualcomm has taken the lead in negotiating with Samsung to explore utilizing its latest 2nm process for foundry production. The design work has been completed, with plans to achieve commercialization as soon as possible. The initial order may involve transitioning the production of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, currently manufactured using TSMC's 3nm process, to a 2nm process.
