On January 7, 2026, Micron Technology made a groundbreaking announcement with the launch of the Micron 3610 NVMe SSD. This innovative product stands as the industry’s first PCIe 5.0 QLC SSD tailored specifically for client computing. Adopting a sleek, single-sided M.2 2230 form factor, it is the first globally to boast a substantial 4TB capacity. The SSD delivers impressive performance, with sequential read speeds soaring up to 11,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds reaching up to 9,300 MB/s. At present, samples have been dispatched to a select group of OEM partners. The SSD comes in a variety of capacities, ranging from 1TB to 4TB, and offers multiple form factor choices, including M.2 2230/2242/2280.
