According to the latest report from Bobantang, a notable surge in the cost of memory chips is set to trigger phased price increases for NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards. AMD is expected to initiate price hikes in January 2026, raising prices by $20 for the 8GB memory variant and $40 for the 16GB version. Cumulatively, these annual price increases could amount to as much as 600 yuan. NVIDIA, following closely behind, may implement its own price adjustments starting from February 2026, with more substantial hikes anticipated for its high-end models. This development signifies the first widespread price increase in nearly three years, primarily fueled by the AI industry's voracious appetite for memory chips, which has, in turn, tightened the supply of consumer-grade memory.
