From December 25 to 26, the National Conference on Industry and Information Technology convened in Beijing. The conference emphasized that, as we approach the commencement of the "15th Five-Year Plan" in 2026, efforts should be channeled into ten pivotal areas. Specifically, in the realm of nurturing emerging and future industries, there will be a concerted push to cultivate emerging pillar industries such as integrated circuits, new display technologies, advanced materials (replacing "new materials" for a more precise term), aerospace, low-altitude economy, and biomedicine.

Support will be extended to facilitate breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, while satellite IoT commercial trials will be systematically conducted. The establishment of national demonstration bases for emerging industries will be prioritized, alongside the construction of innovative industrial clusters. Through a "challenge and lead" strategy, innovation tasks within niche segments (sub-sectors) of future industries will be undertaken. Furthermore, policies aimed at fostering innovative development in areas like embodied intelligence and the metaverse will be refined, and the research and development endeavors in 6G technology will be intensified.
