On December 15, Unigroup Guowei made an announcement stating that, with the aim of bolstering its forward-looking technological research and industrial chain strategy, as well as elevating its capabilities in scientific research, innovation, and the conversion of research outcomes into practical applications, the company has made the strategic decision to establish a Central Research Institute. This institute will zero in on three key research areas:

Firstly, it will delve into research on novel architectures, innovative models, and efficient algorithms for edge AI chips. These chips are intended for applications in autonomous driving, embodied robots, low-altitude aircraft, and various other domains.

Secondly, the institute will conduct in-depth research on new types of memory and specialized chips that leverage two-dimensional material devices.

Thirdly, it will focus its efforts on researching high-performance specialized sensor chips.
