On December 10th, Beijing time, Bloomberg broke the news that South Korean semiconductor giant SK Hynix is currently weighing the option of going public in New York. Such a move has the potential to close the valuation gap it faces compared to American counterparts like Micron Technology. In a regulatory disclosure, SK Hynix revealed that it's in the process of examining strategies to boost corporate value. One such strategy under consideration is leveraging treasury shares for a U.S. listing, although no definitive decision has been reached yet. Earlier, the company had been approached by multiple investment banks with proposals to list roughly 2.4% of its outstanding shares via American Depositary Receipts (ADRs).
