SK Hynix Invests 600 Trillion Won in Building Yongin Semiconductor Cluster, with First Wafer Fab to Be Completed in 2027

SK Hynix officially announced today its investment plan for the Yongin semiconductor cluster, with a total scale of 600 trillion won (approximately RMB 2.9 trillion). Originally, the plan was to invest 120 trillion won to build four wafer fabs. Now, the investment for the first wafer fab has already reached 120 trillion won, equivalent to the original total budget. Construction of the first factory began in February this year and is expected to be completed in May 2027. The subsequent three wafer fabs will be built in phases before 2050, depending on demand.
