Recently, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) unveiled its roster of newly elected Fellows for the year 2026. Among them is Gong Songbin, a distinguished alumnus from our university's Class of 2000, who majored in Electronic Science and Technology. He has earned this prestigious honor in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the research and commercialization of radio frequency (RF) acoustic wave devices.
With an impressive 18-year tenure in the field of RF and millimeter-wave mechanical filter design, Dr. Gong Songbin has made significant strides. His prolific research output includes 220 high-impact papers, a testament to his dedication and expertise. Currently serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois in the United States, Dr. Gong continues to push the boundaries of knowledge in his field. Moreover, his research achievements have not only been recognized academically but have also been successfully industrialized and applied in real-world scenarios.
