On Wednesday, Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, had a meeting with Donald Trump. During the discussion, both parties delved into the restrictions imposed on the export of cutting-edge AI chips. It seems that Huang managed to sway the White House, giving rise to optimism about a potential relaxation of the existing chip export controls.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Nvidia had initiated preliminary talks with the White House concerning the sale of its more advanced H200 chips to China. Should these negotiations prove fruitful, they could have a profound effect on Nvidia's business operations in the Chinese market. At present, due to export restrictions from both China and the United States that prevent Nvidia's AI chips from entering the Chinese market, the company's market share in China saw a dramatic decline, dropping from a high of 95% at one stage in the second quarter of this year.
